ipsy April 2015 Glam Bag Review!

Hey everyone!

Can you believe that it's already summer!? I am so happy that it is finally summer vacation and that I can finally take a moment and not be so stressed out. I really underestimated how much time my Studio Art program would take up. I had two studio courses this last semester and spent about 6 hours in class for each course and about 10 hours outside of class working on different pieces. Needless to say I was swamped with school and I am glad to be free from it for a bit.

Anyways, I was super happy to get this months glam bag because  it came around the time my exams had ended which I thought was a nice little end of semester treat. I really liked the theme of this one which was Beautifully Bohemian and it came with such a cute and summery little bag that I am already using as a travel bag for little items.

The first product I pulled out of the bag was a Hikari Cosmetics Blush in the Shade Tango. I thought at first that this shade may be a bit to bright with my super pale complexion but when I used it, it was actually just a nice subtle colour.

The next product I pulled out I instantly fell in love with because the packaging is beautiful and vintage looking. It is theBalmCosmetics NUDE Dude Eyeshadow Single in the shade Fit. I really like this coppery colour and a nude shade is always good for any occasion.

I also got the MicaBeauty Eye Primer which I actually haven't used yet but I am excited to eventually use it because I actually have never used an eye primer before. So I am interested to see the difference with doing my eyes with this product.

My favourite product out of this bag is a product by Olive Natural Beauty and it is The Olive Lip Balm. I love lip balms and I always have at least one on me at all times (usually two) so I was super happy to get this. So far I really like this one and I really like that it is made from all natural ingredients.  It also smells so good that when I first smelled it my stomach growled because it smells so delicious that I could eat it, I'm not even joking like it smells amazing!

The product that I was most meh about was Starlooks Satin Finish Lip Gloss in the shade Cuddle. It's not that I don't like the product but I'm not a big lip gloss fan so even though I really like  the coppery colour I probably won't really wear it.

So I guess that is it for now, I'm thinking about doing a little post about some of my studio projects from this semester so if you would like to see some of the pieces that I created let me know!

ipsy December 2014 Glam Bag Review!

Hey everyone!

So I have realized that I haven't posted an ipsy review since August which I am extremely disappointed in myself about. I have been getting them each month so I have no excuse as to why I was posting them anymore. That however is changing now, and I will continue to post one each month since the ipsy seems to be a very popular post of mine.

For those that do not know what ipsy is, it is a monthly subscription where you can receive 5 make-up items. It is only about $15 including shipping and handling, well for me anyways. I live in Ontario so if you are in the U.S.A. I'm assuming it would be a bit of a lower price.

The First item out of the bag was A. H. A. 3% Facial Cleanser by Beauty Without Cruelty. This is a gel cleanser that begins to foam as you begin to massage it into your skin. I have used it and as I do have sensitive skin It wasn't exactly harsh it just seemed to dry my skin slightly so I personally would use this more than once a week. However it did seem to do exactly what it said it would, and I always love trying out new facial products.

The next item is NYX Cosmetics Butter lip Balm in Marshmallow, so their nude Butter Balm. I'm not going to lie, I was kind of disappointed that I received this shade I was hoping for Red Velvet or Lady Fingers. I do like this product but a nude colour doesn't really suit since I am pale, brighter colours are usually what I prefer.

The next product I pulled out I was super excited about! It is Pixi by Petra and it's their Fairy Dust in the shade Brightening Bare. I really like this and I tend to use more natural tones as eyeshadows so this was completely perfect. The way the product is designed though is slightly strange so to get the product out is kind of difficult.

I also received the Electroplated Eyelash Curler by Swissco. I was needing a new eyelash curler and it is  an electric purple colour so this was perfect!

Finally, the best for last! A sample size of tarte's deluxe lights, camera, lashes 4-in-1 mascara! If you have had a tarte mascara before you know how wonderful and amazing they are. I was so happy to get this in this months bag and is such a great mascara and makes my small eyelashes quite a lot of volume.

This months bag was a fantastic early Christmas present (from myself) and ipsy never seems to disappoint.  I hope you guys are ready for my video on Sunday I am filming it earlier tomorrow just so I know for sure that I have enough time to edit it and post it! As well on Friday I will be posting my weekly favourites video, as per usual ( or what was usual)!

Take care! xxx

LUSH Hair Saviours!

Hey everyone!

Now reading the title of this post you most likely think that I am exaggerating how well these products have worked for me. I am not. I have very difficult hair, it doesn't like to cooperate with me and has a mind of its own. I have a hair type, that is curly, thick, and frizzy, so it is a super difficult hair type to work with.

$22.95
I have had little luck with hair products making my hair styled in a consistent way. I could be using the same product twice in a row and one day my hair will look really nice and the next day I would do my hair in the exact same way but it will look completely different, and in those cases I usually end up putting my hair up. However, I have recently found products that keep my hair from acting crazy.

$12.95
So, I went to LUSH looking to pick up a few face masks like I like when one of the lovely workers complimented me on my hair. I thanked her and jokingly said something along the lines of  " Thank you, but it is difficult to manage," She asked me what I used for my hair and during this time I was experimenting with different products. She then asked if I had every used the R&B Hair Moisturizer. Well when I came up to the front with what I wanted to purchase she gave me a sample size of the R&B and I went of my merry way. Little did I know how great the product was going to be.
Not the best picture of me but this is what my hair looks like with both the R&B and Sea Spray in.
I ended up loving the R&B Hair Moisturizer sample that I got and once the sample size was gone I went back to LUSH to pick up a full pot size. While I got that I also got their Sea Spray which holds hair in place. I use both of these products daily, starting with putting the R&B moisturizer in my hair and once my hair is styled how I like it I use the Sea Spray to hold it all in place. I really like these products and if you have difficult hair like I do I highly recommend these products!

Miracle Man for Your Brows!

Hey everyone!

My week of stress if finally over! I have finished all of my midterms and some of my large assignments which were due last friday so now I am FREE! Well up until finals I guess. Anyways with the stressful week I had last week I kind of let somethings get out of control, including my eyebrows. We all have those weeks when our brows become a much lower priority and last week was that week for me.

However I was able to tidy up and correct my brows this weekend with the help of my wonderful Tweezerman tweezers. Tweezerman is simply fantastic and amazing, they are without a doubt the best tweezers you could possibly own. You know when you have a pair of tweezers that just can't seem to get all the fine and shorter hairs? Well when using Tweezerman tweezers you can get all the the nuisance strands of hair that you want gone. Plus they come in cute designs and a nice little case so they are perfect.

I honestly love mine so much, I bought mine I think around the beginning August and I will now and forever stick with Tweezerman. They are a pretty reasonable price, I think mine were around $28.00 so they seem a bit pricy but they are definitely worth it! You can get them from your local Target ( that's where I got mine), or you can go to Sephora, or your local beauty product retailer.

Anyways, that is it for today. I just wanted to share how amazing these are with all of you!

Take care! xxx

ipsy August 2014 Glam Bag Review!

Hey everyone!

I know what you're thinking, two ipsy reviews in one week!? What? I know it's crazy, right? Well not really since my July ipsy review was very late... my bad. Anyways, my ipsy bag was kind of a surprise for me this month since it arrived even before I got the tracking information. Usually the tracking info comes around the 7th of each month, but mine came on the 11 a day before I got the email that it had shipped, so it was a nice surprise that it came a bit early!

This months theme is Beauty Schooled and the products came in this cute white pencil case like bag, and it is decorated with orange poke-a-dots. I am super excited about this months bag because all of the products that I received are products I have wanted to try, but have not got too.

I received Dr. Brandt's Pore No More Pore Refiner, and I am very excited to see how this works. I have heard great things about this online and have wanted to get for a long time, but never actually got around to it. I was very happy to see that it was in my bag and I am hoping that all of the hype around this product is true

.
I also got a product by Urban Decay, which will always be one of my favourite brands. I got their Perversion Mascara and I haven't even tried it yet, but I already love it! Why? Because the name is amazing, and as the packaging says it's "so intense, you might need a safe word." I mean, how can it not be amazing!? Plus, I love the size of it because it's so easy to fit in any bag or clutch that you are traveling with!

A product by J. Cat Beauty was also featured in this months Glam Bag. I received their Flying Solo Eye Shadow in the shade Half Naked. Not only is it a beautiful shade, it comes in fantastic packaging. Now when a product is featured in beautiful packaging I love it even more. It's encased in a nice and simple compact case and in this small case there is not only an applicator, but a mirror as well! This will definitely be a product that I travel with.

As you may or may not know, I am the type of girl that never leaves the house without a lip balm so when I pulled Jersey Shore Sun's Mongongo Lip Conditioner. It smells amazing, and has made my lips feel smooth and hydrated so it definitely does its job! The only thing about this product is that it's supposed to be a anti-aging Lip Conditioner, so I don't really know how it does that. If you do know the answer please let me know!

Finally the product that I am most excited about! I got Klorane's Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk and I literally almost screamed from excitement when I saw that it was in my bag! Now you may think I'm crazy when I say this, but I have never used a dry shampoo. I know right!? That's why I'm excited! I don't usually suffer from oily hair even if I go a day or two without showering so that's why I've never tried dry shampoo, but now that I have it I will definitely use it!

This has been my favourite bag from ipsy so far! I received all great products from amazing brands that I love or have wanted to try. I already can't wait until Septembers bag to see what I'm getting next!

ipsy July 2014 Glam Bag Review

Hey everyone!

So I know this is very late but, I wanted to post it anyways. I've been all over the place with my entries lately and as of today posts will be back on schedule! As you know I had problems with my internet, computer, and the last two weeks the buses in my city have not been running. You might think that was super random to bring up, but no it was why I didn't post much in the last couple weeks. My work is about a 30 minute bus ride away from my house, which makes it about an hours walk away. Yes, a few days I had to walk to work and home from work so I've been completely wiped by the time I've finished work. So for the past two weeks all I've really done is sleep, work, eat, and repeat. BUT I'M BACK!!! :D

So July's ipsy bag was themed Sensationally Sunkissed! The hot pink make-up bag is absolutely fabulous, it's a great size and super cute! As always there were five items in the bag, and this month it all had to do with summer!

From bareMINERALS I got there READY Eyeshadow in the shade The Inspiration. I absolutely love the shade they chose to send me, although I haven't really messed around with it from what I can tell from a quick application, it will become one of my favourites. When applied it goes on real smoothly and doesn't have the chalky look that some eyeshadows have. I really like this product and I'm excited to experiment with it more.

This was probably my favourite product to get and it is by Clear Clinic Laboratories. It is their Vanished Clear Spot Treatment which you apply onto any blemish and it'll diminish the look of any spot in just a couple of hours! I usually like to use it before I go to bed, after I've done my night time skin routine. It is amazing and once I run out I will be repurchasing it!

I also got to try out a brand that I've been wanting to try out for a very long time, and that is Pixi Beauty! I got their Mini Tinted Brilliance Balm in the shade Unique Pink. It isn't very prominent shade, it is just enough colour to slightly change my lip colour. I really like just because my usual lip balm isn't tinted so this is just a nice product to have on hand.

I also got a product by Pur~lisse and it is their pur~product essential daily moisturizer in spf 30. Now this is a product that I wasn't really excited for just because I do have a lot of products like this but it's always good to try and weed out the ones you like best. I like this product quite a lot  just because it is a light moisturizer and it has spf in it, which is always good for us pale individuals!

The product that I least liked was by Models own and it was their nail polish in the shade Red Sea. I am not a bug fan of nail polish with glitter in it, especially if it's bigger pieces of glitter. However I did try it out to see whether or not I would like it. It didn't dry properly and was kind of a tacky texture which was not good! I am a big fan of nail polishes but this is definitely one I will not be wearing again.

Anyways that is it for today! let me know what kind of pots you want to see from me, or products you want me to review!

Clinique Redness Solution Review!

Hey everyone!

So if you don't already know, I am a pretty pale person who sometimes (most days) have problems with my skin. I get acne like most people but because I am so pale I have a lot of redness on my skin that is very prominent. I've never really tried to find something that would make it go away but because it's summer and very hot outside, my redness is showing a lot more. So I found a product that I am very happy with!

So Clinique is becoming one of my favourite brands right now, I have one of their moisturizers and one of there cleansing foams, all of which I have been extremely happy with! I know it's more of an expensive brand and not everyone can afford it, but there stuff is really worth it, so if you can spare the money it is definitely worth it. So I though I would check out what Clinique had for redness of skin and I found exactly what I was looking for!

I bought Clinique's redness solution daily protective base with SPF 15. This was such a perfect buy because not only does it minimize redness it also is has sun protection. Now this doesn't completely mask the redness on its own, if you want it completely gone I would suggest using a cover-up, but there are days when I don't want to have a face full of make-up and I like to just use it on it's own. It's great because it does exactly what I want it to and is great for summer because it does have SPF in it. You only have to use a little bit so the bottle should last you quite awhile!

Anyways, that's it for now! Just to let you know my Twitter and Instagram unsernames are now in my blog description so feel free to follow, I may (will) follow back (if you leave a comment saying "blog more":) This is not to gain followers you can just leave that comment and I promise I will check your stuff out, I honestly just want to be able to chat with the people that are reading this :)

Rimmel London's Colour Rush Intense Colour Balm Review!

Hey everyone!

I have been trying to find new lip product to tryout and I found these! They are Rimmel London's Colour Rush Intense Colour Balm. I did hear good things about this product before I got them and I have to say, what I heard was right.

I got their product in the shades Give Me A Cuddle and The Redder, The Better. Both shades show up very well and they seem to last very well through the day. The only problem that I have is that the colour seems to kind of flake off but I think that might be caused by the fact that my lips are a bit dry. If I don't see a change in the next week or so the product will loose some points but over all I think it is still a really nice drugstore lip product.

They are twist pencils so there is a good amount of product in each tube so for about $4.99 each it's a fantastic amount and worth the buy. They have a great selection of colours in the line and i think I might pick up 1 or two more just so I can have some of my favourite shades.

Anyways, as always feel free to ask any questions and let me know what you think of this product!

Clinique’s Moisture Surge is Amazing!

Hey everyone!

So I have found it. I have found the miracle that can make all skin feel silky smooth no matter what type of skin you may have, or any severe dry patch you might have.  As you may or may not know, depending on when you started reading my blog, I was having issues with dry skin and I thought I found the product that would be able to fix it. I was wrong. Previously I was using Clean & Clear’s morning burst hydrating gel moisturizer and it helped a bit but overall it didn’t end up making this stubborn patch of dry skin on the left side of my face go away. I was really getting annoyed by this super dry patch of itchy skin because it had no cause to be there. I didn’t do anything to my skin that could have caused it so my skin was just being a pain and making my life miserable. BUT I FOUND IT!
$44.00 but it's worth it!
I found the miracle cream that can take on any dry skin issues and make them disappear. Now this is a pricier product and I do apologize if this is not in your price range, but I promise you that it is worth the money so if you have to save for a bit to get it, I would because it is too fantastic of a product to not have.

It is Clinique’s moisture surge extended thirst relief and it is amazing! You only need a little bit so the amount you get in the container is really worth what you are paying to have this product. The hydration from this product does last all day and it is a light feeling cream so it doesn’t feel too heavy on the face which is something that I look for in a product. It has a really nice scent to it, which is nice since it is something that is applied over your face, you wouldn’t want some chemical smelling product on because I know if something smells like chemicals I start to get a headache. In all seriousness this is an awesome product and I am so happy to have found it, my skin has not felt this nice in a long, long time so this really is a magical moisturizer.

Anyways, if you have used this before let me know what you thought of it or if you do end up going out and getting it let me know what you thought of it! Also, if you are a big Clinique fan let me know what products you like of theirs because I am wanting to try more of their stuff!

Lush Haul!

Hey everyone!

While I was in Toronto I stopped by the Lush located in the Eaton Centre and got some goodies to take back with me.

I didn’t just go into Lush once, I bought some stuff one day and went back the next day and picked up some more stuff. If you don’t know what Lush is, it is a fantastic store that has handmade bath bombs, facial masks, soaps, and so much more. If you have one near you and have never gone in I highly suggest you do because you will fall in love with it.

Grease Lightning - $13.95

So in my first trip into Lush I picked up a bottle of Grease Lightning which is supposed to take care of spots and cleanse your skin. I have used this quite a lot recently and it seems like it is doing its job and is reducing the size of any spots that I may have.

Mask of Magnaminty - $12.95

Also on my first trip I got the Mask of Magnaminty. This is used to deeply cleanse the skin and it with the minty scent it smells great while it does it's job. You only leave it on for a maximum of 10 minutes but in those 10 minutes you can feel it cleansing you skin which is something that I like in a cleansing face mask.

Herbalism - $13.95

On my second trip into Lush I picked up a few more products including Herbalism. This is another skin care product and when I have used this I use this just before the Mask of Magnaminty and end my pampering by using the Grease Lighting. This product you only have to use small amounts and it is only to be on you skin for between 1-2 minutes. This is a product that is geared towards oily and blemish-prone skin so if you have similar skin to mine you will love this product!

Sweetie Pie - $6.95

Now those that are recurring shoppers at Lush know that you can't leave the store without getting at least one thing for a bath, or shower.  This is their Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly and I have not used it yet but it smells fantastic so I will be using this on my next day off.

Bubble Gum Lip Scrub - $9.95

This was also my first time getting one of their Lip Scrubs in the scent Bubble Gum. This is to use when you lips have gotten a bit dry and when you use this it will smooth out you skin, it is like using an exfoliator on you you face, but this is specifically to be used on you lips. It is made with castor sugar so you do not have to worry if any gets into you mouth, and it's pretty tasty!

Fresh Farmacy - $15.12 (price depends on the weight of the bar)

Now this is something that I also have not used yet and I am waiting until my next day off to use this product as well. This is Lush's Fresh Farmacy bar and it is for people that have sensitive skin and also skin that is prone to breakouts. When I do use this I will definitely let you know how I like it.

The Godmother - $6.80

I also got their Godmother Soap which I also have not gotten the chance to use yet but it smells fantastic. It has the scent of cotton candy so being able to smell like cotton candy is something that I am definitely looking forward to.

So yeah, that was my big Lush Haul. Any of the products on here that I haven't used yet I will be making an updated post later on and let you all know how I like the products after I get to use them. Let me know what your favourite product from Lush is or if you haven't gotten anything from Lush let me know if any of the products I got interested you! :)

Physicians Formula Supper BB Cream Review

Hey Everyone!

I hope all of you had a fantastic Easter weekend (for those who celebrate it), and that you got some wonderful goodies from the Easter Bunny. I had a wonderful weekend with my family, my little sister got to do an egg hunt and we took her to the park and enjoyed the nice warm weather that finally decided to come to Canada. All in all it was a fantastic weekend of food and family.

Anyways today I will be talking about the Super BB Cream from Physicians Formula. So this is an all in one Beauty Balm (BB for those who may not know what that stands for) Cream that I have heard is supposed to be absolutely fantastic. I got this a couple weeks ago and it was a good price, about $20, which is pretty good for this type of product. This is both a moisturizer and foundation but I do still put my Clean & Clear Morning Burst moisturizer on before I put the BB Cream on. I got this in the Light shade because I have a very fair skin tone, and this product is actually slightly darker than my skin tone but I don’t think it’s so dark that it looks ridiculous, I think it makes my skin look a bit healthier.

The coverage of this product is fantastic so concealer is not necessary which is nice, especially if you only have a few minutes to get ready. It also makes a difference in the visibility of pores, by reducing them quite a lot. I also found that I wasn't breaking out after using this product which is a very big plus for me because I have sensitive skin so I tend to breakout when applying make-up. All in all I really like this product and the tube that it comes in is 1.2 Oz so it should last quite a while which is great!

If you have used this product let me know what you thought of it! And if you have any suggestions of any other products I should use let me know!

Chella Eyeliner Pen Review

Hey everyone!

I know I didn’t post anything last week and I am very sorry for that. I had all of my final exams last week so I spent my entire week studying and did not have time to make entries to my blog like I wanted to. Since I am now finished my first year of university I should have more free time so I might be able to make more than 3 posts in a week.

Anyways, today I am reviewing Chella’s Eyeliner Pen in Indigo Blue. This is almost like a liquid liner but the liner itself is slightly different than usual liquid eyeliner. With regards to this product I really like the simple packaging and that the text on the packaging is the colour of the liner which is a nice feature. I also really like the colour of this product because it just adds a nice pop of colour to any look that you are to make. Applying this though is not as easy as most would think. I found this to be a slightly difficult product to use because it did not apply very smoothly and when it did eventually apply it didn’t evenly distribute the liner so I had to go over a spot multiple times for it to be even. So that was disappointing.

When I was finally finished apply this liner I did like the look of it but to get to the finished look it took more time than I thought it should have. I wouldn’t suggest buying this product because it is about $25.00 but if you get this as a gift or something than I wouldn’t just write it off. I will be playing around with this product a bit more to see if I can get a better result than I did with my first time applying it, so I will keep you updated.

The cute packaging!
What the pen tool looks like.

What the actual colour looks like.
If you have any suggestions on which products I should review next let me know! Or if you have any questions feel free to ask me anything.
