Decision Making

Hey everyone!

As I said in my last entry I am in university right now and I will be finishing my first year in just over a month. Since beginning university in September I have realized a few very important things that I thought should be shared to people going into university or college next year. Now I know that this time of year applicants are receiving acceptance letters from the schools that they applied to, and some maybe receiving letters with not so good news. The thing you need to know is that if you still haven’t received anything as of now it is okay, do not worry! I didn't receive my acceptance letter to my university until about mid-March, and some like a few of my friends didn't receive their acceptance until late April. So do not panic if you haven’t received any or all replies yet.

The other thing you need to not do is go with the first school that sent a reply. It may be your first choice but wait until you receive all of the schools replies before making your final choice, it is always good to make sure with what you feel is the best option for you. With this, also make sure to visit the schools before making your final decision because the school may seem nice on their website, but you’ll never truly know until you see it in person.

Also when picking schools make sure that you are making decisions based off of yourself, not your friends or even family, because you are the one that will be attending said school. My two closes friends are both going to two different schools and we still talk all the time and we see each other pretty often, so make sure that you are choosing the school for you, not for anyone else.

My last tip of advice for when applying and choosing schools is make sure that you are choosing the program that you want to take. If you are unsure of what you want to do that take an undeclared major for first year, you don’t have to make a final decision until you experience some of the classes in university. From my personal experience I applied to a program that I felt was the more appropriate one and I’m not happy with what I choose, but I am also in the process of changing my major into what I really want to be doing. So if you wind up not liking the program you chose talk to someone about switching into your desired program.

Anyways, I hope that this can help some of you who are struggling with what to do in the stressful times of deciding what to do for university or college. If you have any questions feel free to ask me, I’ll answer in my next entry if I get any.

I'm very luck to have such a beautiful campus!

Thanks!

Have a great day! xxx

P.s. I have decided that I will  be making entries every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, if that information interests any one!
