Dehydration

Hey everyone!

Its been awhile hasn't it? I am very sorry for that but I've had a hard time finding time between school and work to be able to write. I have missed this so much, even with just writing this introduction I feel like I am back doing what I am supposed to be doing. For today I want to talk about a more serious topic that I myself struggle with. It isn't necessarily a very common thing but because my schedule has been really hectic lately I have noticed that I have been struggling with it a bit more than usual.

The issue that I am talking about is dehydration. Now I am sure most have you have been dehydrated before, on a really hot summer day or even having a hangover (thats caused by dehydration). That is when most people experience dehydration. I however experience dehydration more often than most people because I do not drink enough fluids on a daily bases. Now this is not because I don't want to, it's because I simply forget to drink and for some reason my body doesn't send me signals telling me to drink. There have been times when I have gone a whole day without drinking anything, and it will be 8pm when I have my first glass of water.

This is very unhealthy for your body to go through, and I have been trying very hard to get my body the proper amount of daily fluids, but there are some days when I will still not drink enough. I had multiple days where I have woken up nauseas and at first I didn't know why, but Iater realized that it was because I was dehydrated. Now when this happens I know why I feel that way and I am able to help myself by knowing how to fix it. I know that this may seem very ridiculous to a lot of you but this is pretty serious and if this is not taken care of properly you can wind up hospitalized from dehydration.

Recently, I downloaded this amazing app for my HTC called Water Your Body which reminds you to drink water throughout the day. If you do not have an Android I am sure that you would be able to find similar apps in your app store. I have also made sure to always have a full water bottle with me where ever I go, just so I can be drinking constantly. I know I cannot be the only one hat ha this problem so if you also go through this feel free to comment or email me because maybe we can help each other out!

Do not end up like this guy!!!
Anyways, that is it for now! I promise I will be posting more product reviews very soon... maybe this week ;).... and I will be writing more regularly.

More Foreign Treats!

Hey everyone!

So I have some more foreign goodies that I would like to let you know about! Again I found these in my local Walmart so if you are wanting to get your hands on these products I'm sure that you will be able to find them.

Asia:

This is meiji's Hello Panda and not only is it really yummy it is super cute! Each little cookie has it's own cute panda design which does make it hard to eat because it is too cute but so worth it. On the outside is a cookie shell and the inside is filled with this great chocolate filling. Overall I will definitely be buying this again because it was just a great little treat to have!

Now when I got this I didn't know if I would like this or not because I'm not usually a fan of Pistachio's. However Britannia's Pistachio and Almond Cookies have changed my mind about pistachios. When I bought these I didn't realize that they had pistachio's in them, I was too distracted by my love of almonds to notice that it contained pistachios as well. All in all these were pretty good! They aren't at the top of my repurchase list but I won't rule them out.

Germany:

Now this was something that I also was not completely sure I would like because I am not a big fan of wafer cookies. These are Gut and Gunstig's Mignon Waffeln and I ended up really liking them! These were smaller wafers that were coated in chocolate so of course I would like them, how could I not? These have a nice hazelnut taste to them and you can use these as your moderation chocolate because they are pretty rich tasting so I am only able to have a few at a time.

Anyways, that is it for today! I'm sorry that this is late but I am just getting back into a school and woking schedule so balancing things is going to be a bit rocky this month, but I promise to do my best!

A Good Way To End The Week!

Hey everyone!

So because this was the first week back to school I wanted to make todays post into something lighthearted and fun. I had my first day back to university yesterday and I have to say that it went really well! I only had one class this week because I only have one class on thursdays and my Fridays are free so it was kind of a nice way to get back into the grove of school.

Even though I have been lucky enough to have an easy first week of school I know some of you may not have been that lucky. So that is why I chose this video from POPSUGAR Girl's Guide. If you like cute videos, celebrity gossip videos, cooking videos, and just about everything and more  you will love this YouTube channel! Personally I like the Top That show and their cooking videos so be sure to check those out if that kind of thing interests you!

Thats really it for today, I didn't want to make it too long incase your brain has had too much information intake for the week! Let me know what you are most looking forward to during this year of school! I'm most looking forward to becoming more close to my roommates!

New Music!

Hey everyone!

So a few days ago I got an email from a girl named Rachel to check out a an artist that she though I would like. Now you probably don't know this about me but growing up I was in my school choir in both my elementary school and in high school. So when I listen to artists that are very vocal focused ( not pop music) I tend to be kind of critical. Well I am so happy that Rachel shared the amazing talents of Hayley Solano with me because she is a very talented artist but I probably wouldn't have discovered her if it wasn't for the email I received.

I like that she is able to tell stories through her music and get the listener to take the journey with her. She has such a beautiful and calming voice that helps bring the listener into the stories that she is telling through her musical ability. Below I have her latest original song If I Was There and I am not kidding you when I saw that this has just been stuck in my head and I've been playing it constantly. The story behind the song is great and I'm a romantic and London is somewhere that I have considered moving to so I can picture this as a possible romance that I could have. I am the kind of person that likes to put myself in as the main character of the story and with this song I was able to do that.

If you like music that has meaning behind it, or songs that tell a story give this a listen because Hayley Solano is a fantastic artist. She does have original songs like the one I posted but she does also do covers as well from artists like Sam Smith and Katy Perry. She is super talented and if you have a minute to spare give If I Was There a little listen! :)

A Taste of Foreign Treats!

Hey everyone!

So this week I thought I might change it up a bit and do something a bit different! I decided to go out and get some treats from other countries that I haven't tried before and let you know what I thought of them. I went to Walmart to get these so that of you are interested in trying anything I talk about, you can most likely purchase it. I'm doing this in two parts; today I am talking about treats from Italy and England!

Italy:

So I picked up a package of Mix Max which is made by Balconi. I really liked these ones, the package came with 10 and each one is individually wrapped. The Mix Max is basically a small vanilla cake with chocolate icing in the middle and chocolate coating the outside of the cake. It is a really lite cake but very yummy! This would be something that I would definitely get again!

These are Gioia Savoiardi Biscuits or Ladyfingers as most North Americans know them. These were pretty good, I have never had them before but I have heard of them before. I only had them plain but I'm sure that it i had them with some type of dip or Nutella it would be really tastey. I'm going to try different things with them but they did taste alright when eaten plain.

England:

This has to be what heaven tastes like. It is not a complicated chocolate but it is SO good! The Flake bar from Cadbury is basically chocolate that has been formed by making individual thin layers and I don't know why, but it is delicious! It is just plain milk chocolate but it just tastes so good!

Now this one had to be my absolute favourite thing that I tried. My favourite chocolate bar had been a Mars Bar for a very long time, but I think it has been replaced by this amazing creation. This is also by Cadbury and it is their Double Decker bar and it is amazing! it it has layer of nougat and a layer of  some type of cookie and covered in chocolate. I don't know how I have survived this long without this candy bar in my life.

Next week I will be posting the second part to this and it will contain treats from Germany and Asia. If you have any other suggestions of foods I should try please let me know and I will try to find them!
