Roommates 101

Hey everyone!

I hope you have all had a fantastic weekend! Last week was quite a stressful week for me because of school so I ended up going home to my mom's house on Thursday to destress a bit. I finished up a few assignments, and too celebrate and relax a bit I treated myself to a few face masks and a nice relaxing bath. I have to say this weekend helped me so much and though I do still have a big project due this week, I am nowhere near as stressed out.

However, I am not going to dwell on me stressing but talk about roommates. As most of you know I am filming videos more often for my YouTube channel and for this video I gave advice on how to be a good roommate. I currently have 4 roommates and I feel as if i kinda know at least some of the in's and out's of being a roommate.

I hope you all enjoyed this video, I had quite a fun time making and I am really excited for my upcoming videos! Let me know some videos you want to see or suggestions of how I can improve my video making skills :)

A Good Way To End The Week!

Hey everyone!

So because this was the first week back to school I wanted to make todays post into something lighthearted and fun. I had my first day back to university yesterday and I have to say that it went really well! I only had one class this week because I only have one class on thursdays and my Fridays are free so it was kind of a nice way to get back into the grove of school.

Even though I have been lucky enough to have an easy first week of school I know some of you may not have been that lucky. So that is why I chose this video from POPSUGAR Girl's Guide. If you like cute videos, celebrity gossip videos, cooking videos, and just about everything and more  you will love this YouTube channel! Personally I like the Top That show and their cooking videos so be sure to check those out if that kind of thing interests you!

Thats really it for today, I didn't want to make it too long incase your brain has had too much information intake for the week! Let me know what you are most looking forward to during this year of school! I'm most looking forward to becoming more close to my roommates!

Back to School!

Hey everyone!

In honor of school starting next week I thought this was a very fitting video. You may have seen this cute and funny family a few months  ago in a video called #XMAS JAMMIES. Well this family is back and there video is just as good if not better than there #XMAS JAMMIES video. This is The Holderness family and they make amazing family videos on YouTube and if you have not seen them yet, you need to get on that.

This is a parody of Sir Mix A Lot's Baby Got Back, and it is perfection. It is the perfect way to lighten the mood to the start of the school year, and can possibly make you excited to go back. I know that I am actually quite excited to get back into a regular schedule and I'm really excited for some of the classes I chose to take for this semester!

I know that going back to school isn't exciting for everyone, but this year try to enjoy it and maybe make a new friend or two. Don't just spend your days hating school, do something to make it enjoyable for you.

Food Temptations

Hey everyone!

As you know from some of my previous posts I am currently in university right now. Being in university and living in residence there are a few changes between your lifestyle at home and your lifestyle living in residence. As some of you are preparing to be going to university or college next year it’s good to know what to expect when living away from home. One of the biggest changes that you will probably notice when living in residence is your eating habits. As weird as that sounds I know that since living in residence my eating habits have definitely changed since leaving home. Luckily for me my campus has a great selection of healthy food choices which I usually go after but I have gotten into the habit of getting a slice of pizza when I can’t decide what I want. Recently I've been better at choosing a more healthy option than pizza, but there have been some days where I’ll slip into the pizza trap.

Now besides eating the food that your campus offers it is always good to be keeping some snacks in your room so you’re not going to the vending machine all the time or going for the delicious baked goods that your school offers. At home you are probably used to eating whenever you want because it’s easy to get up and look in your pantry for chips, crackers, or even an apple, but you don’t have access to that amount of food in your room (or at least most don’t.) What I have done since being in residence is I go grocery shopping every week or every two weeks and get a few things to snack on. Not all have to be healthy snacks because it is always nice to treat yourself but having unhealthy snacks in your room, as I have learned from experience, don’t last too long because they are so delicious.

So to give some examples of what I get during my grocery trips are the following items:

These are Oikos Greek Yogurt in coconut and fig flavored.

Cranberries covered in Greek yogurt ( yes I am currently loving Greek yogurt.)

Arthurs Green Energy Smoothie just to add more fruits and veggies into my diet.

Rold Gold chocolate dipped pretzels.

These are just some of the types of food products that I like to have in my dorm room because I like to have snacks when I'm working or to satisfy my hunger until around a usual meal time. As I said you shouldn't just get healthy snacks it's nice to have a bag of chips laying around, just don't go crazy with the chip and candy aisle. Even buying fruit like apples, grapefruit, and pomegranates, which I've bought since being in residence, are just nice to have at hand when you are wanting a fresh food item.

Anyways, I hope this helps some of you out their who maybe need some help with what and what not to buy while in residence because it is very easy to get carried away when you don't have your parents watching over you. If any of you are or have been in residence feel free to leave a comment about your favourite food choice because I am always looking to try new things, and I am sure others would like to hear what you have to say.

Decision Making

Hey everyone!

As I said in my last entry I am in university right now and I will be finishing my first year in just over a month. Since beginning university in September I have realized a few very important things that I thought should be shared to people going into university or college next year. Now I know that this time of year applicants are receiving acceptance letters from the schools that they applied to, and some maybe receiving letters with not so good news. The thing you need to know is that if you still haven’t received anything as of now it is okay, do not worry! I didn't receive my acceptance letter to my university until about mid-March, and some like a few of my friends didn't receive their acceptance until late April. So do not panic if you haven’t received any or all replies yet.

The other thing you need to not do is go with the first school that sent a reply. It may be your first choice but wait until you receive all of the schools replies before making your final choice, it is always good to make sure with what you feel is the best option for you. With this, also make sure to visit the schools before making your final decision because the school may seem nice on their website, but you’ll never truly know until you see it in person.

Also when picking schools make sure that you are making decisions based off of yourself, not your friends or even family, because you are the one that will be attending said school. My two closes friends are both going to two different schools and we still talk all the time and we see each other pretty often, so make sure that you are choosing the school for you, not for anyone else.

My last tip of advice for when applying and choosing schools is make sure that you are choosing the program that you want to take. If you are unsure of what you want to do that take an undeclared major for first year, you don’t have to make a final decision until you experience some of the classes in university. From my personal experience I applied to a program that I felt was the more appropriate one and I’m not happy with what I choose, but I am also in the process of changing my major into what I really want to be doing. So if you wind up not liking the program you chose talk to someone about switching into your desired program.

Anyways, I hope that this can help some of you who are struggling with what to do in the stressful times of deciding what to do for university or college. If you have any questions feel free to ask me, I’ll answer in my next entry if I get any.

I'm very luck to have such a beautiful campus!

Thanks!

Have a great day! xxx

P.s. I have decided that I will  be making entries every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, if that information interests any one!
