Creativity!

Hey everyone!

So I have a new video out on my channel and it is all about being creative. I have always been a creative person but sometimes it is hard to find some inspiration so I wanted to kind of capture that feeling in a video.  For this video I went a more film direction rather then just sitting and talking in front of the camera and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I liked having more creative shots and moving around which I haven't really tried before so I think I'm going to experiment with this type of video more.

I do already have other video ideas some like this and others with me sitting in front of the camera so do look out for those soon! I really have been enjoying making videos which I guess isn't too surprising since I've enjoyed doing it since I took media studies in grade 11 and I do spend all my free time on YouTube. Anyways here is my new video and I hope you enjoy it!

This is probably the video I am most proud of so far so I really do hope that you guys like it!

Dealing With Stress!

Hey everyone!

So as you may know I have been dealing with a lot of stress lately because of school and what not so I decided to make a video about it! Yes I have filmed a new video! I have my next few videos already planned out and I actually just filmed another video today so be prepared to see me on YouTube more often.

I really hope that you enjoyed this video and maybe got some new tips out of it. Let me know some videos you want to see me make in the future and please subscribe to my channel if you want to see future videos :)

Playlist Live Blues!

Hey everyone!

I hope you are all having a wonderful February so far! As most of you know and probably have been able to tell with my lack of posts that I have been very busy with school lately. I've been so stressed lately and all I have wanted to do is write on here and I finally have the chance to do so! Right now I am on my Reading week which is basically a week break off of school. I do have a bit of school work to do during the break, but it isn't an overwhelming amount so I do have a lot of free time this week.

So as per what my regular posing schedule was I wanted to give you guys a bit of insight into the kinds of videos that I have recently been watching. I am very much the type of person who has a set of subscriptions on YouTube that I watch regularly and I am always on YouTube so it is a big part of my daily life. That is also why I began making videos, because if I'm going to be watching content all the time, I might as well be contributing to it. Anyways, for those of you who are big into YouTube you know that this past weekend was Playlist Live and I love watching all the vlogs that come from there because even though I sadly wasn't able to attend, I could still see some of the things that went on during the event. I am really hoping to be able to attend a YouTube event in the near future, I know there are some in Canada but next year I'm hoping to be able to go to either Playlist Live or Vidcon and meet all of my favourite YouTubers and maybe get some insight into how to make my own videos better.

So, this week I've basically just been watching Playlist Live vlogs from channels such as FunForLouis, PointlessBlogTv, SACCONEJOLYs, and MoreZoella. The video that I have featured is a recap of the whole weekend from MoreZoella's channel and it is so well made. I love her vlogging style and her realness in her vlogs so that is why I chose to show this one specifically. This is also a really long video, about 35 minutes, and I prefer longer vlog styled videos so I really enjoyed this one.

Anyways, have a super fantastic weekend!

Roommates 101

Hey everyone!

I hope you have all had a fantastic weekend! Last week was quite a stressful week for me because of school so I ended up going home to my mom's house on Thursday to destress a bit. I finished up a few assignments, and too celebrate and relax a bit I treated myself to a few face masks and a nice relaxing bath. I have to say this weekend helped me so much and though I do still have a big project due this week, I am nowhere near as stressed out.

However, I am not going to dwell on me stressing but talk about roommates. As most of you know I am filming videos more often for my YouTube channel and for this video I gave advice on how to be a good roommate. I currently have 4 roommates and I feel as if i kinda know at least some of the in's and out's of being a roommate.

I hope you all enjoyed this video, I had quite a fun time making and I am really excited for my upcoming videos! Let me know some videos you want to see or suggestions of how I can improve my video making skills :)

5 Facts About Me!

Hey everyone!

As promised I have made my first official YouTube video! I really hope that I didn't completely fail and look like a complete idiot, but I did do my best. As I said this video is a facts about me style of video so feel free to watch this to get to know me a little bit better!

I had a really great time not only filming the video but also editing it  as well so I will do my best to put up videos regularly! I hope that you guys like this new part of how you can kind of interact with me. This way you can see who I am and how awkward of a person I truly am. Since I am on my winter break my next two videos will be vlog style videos and each video will feature clips from throughout my week into a big mash up video!

If you watch this video and let me know what I can do to improve or even ideas for my future videos! Comment here, on the comment section of the video or email me because I really want to do the best I can. :)

Enjoy!

New Christmas Music!

Hey everyone!

Can you believe that there is only 6 days until Christmas!? I am so excited to be going home on Sunday for the last two weeks of my winter break! So far my break has consisted of me eating pizza, watching Netflix, sleeping, and watching more Netflix. I know, I lead an interesting life. However boring my Christmas break seems to be, I'm sure that yours is much more exciting!

So while I was on the great YouTube this week I found the best video possible for this week. It is from one of my favourite YouTubers, Paint! He does such amazing A ccappella video mash work and I have watched his videos since his Harry Potter in 99 Seconds video came out. He is super talented and for my video this week I am featuring his new Christmas song.

I really like and his sense of humour may not be to everyones liking but I really hope you check it out! I have probably watched/ listened to this multiple times a day since it has come out, it is that good!

I hope that you all have a fantastic beak and if you aren't celebrating Christmas bare with me another week, my regular posts will be starting up once Christmas is over!

Take care! xxx

I'm Back!!

Hey everyone!

Been awhile hasn't it? Those that regularly read my blog (are there regulars?) I am super sorry that I haven't posted in a very long time but for those that are in university or any secondary education you can  probably understand why. I was all of a sudden under a pile of midterms, assignments, and "midterms" that were at basically the end of first term. Right now is the first week of my universities exam period so that's why I am finally able to write a blog post. My exams aren't until next week so I am studying and finishing up my last assignment so I basically have starting this week until the beginning of January off from school, minus my two exam days. WHOO!

So I am basically finished my first semester of my second year at university and all I have to say is wow! It has gone by so fast and I can't believe that I am already halfway done this year. I honestly don't know how the semesters go by so fast but they have all seemed to zoom by. With this semester over I do have quite a lot of exciting news that I hope you guys will be happy with.

By the middle of December I will no longer be working, therefore I will have a lot more time to do Internet things. the "things" include my usual schedule of blog posts, so three times a week if you are new to my blog. I usually post on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but that may change slightly because my next semester schedule is a bit hectic on Monday's and Wednesday's, but I will still have my 3 posts they may just happen on different days. AND I will be making regular videos!  I know I have said that in the past but since I won't be working through my next semester I will have time to make and edit videos! My first official video will be up mid-December and I will probably vlog bits and pieces of by break and put it in one big video. I am super excited to be making videos and if you have any ideas of videos please let me know on here or you can email me!

I have also just made a Spotify account for those who are big music people. My account is emmylalonde so my blog name so feel free to follow me or if you think I need to be listening to better music please leave songs or artists because I love fining new music to listen to. Or if you think their are people I should be following on Spotify leave them below :)

National Coming Out Day!

Hey everyone!

So I don't know if all of you know, but tomorrow, October 11 is National Coming Out Day. I wanted to make my video of this week dedicated to this day because I know that there is potentially some of you that are struggling with this so that is why I want to showcase some of the coming out videos that are on the internet.

If you are not an LGBT person I still suggest that you watch this video because these people are so brave and inspiring people, and really have shown the world a very personal and emotional side to them. Though I am not an LGBT person, I am a very firm believer that everyone should be free to love anyone  no matter their gender. So take a few minutes out of your day and watch this video which summarizes some of the best coming out videos, or find the full videos on YouTube and see for yourself how amazing these individuals are.

If you are having problems dealing with coming out or coming to terms that you may not necessarily be straight The Trevor Project is a really great source and there are number that you can contact on this page. Or talk to me and I will do everything I can to help you through whatever you are struggling with, my email is where my about section but I'll leave it here as well emmydlalonde@gmail.com. I love you all and I hope that you have a fantastic weekend!

Take care!

A Good Way To End The Week!

Hey everyone!

So because this was the first week back to school I wanted to make todays post into something lighthearted and fun. I had my first day back to university yesterday and I have to say that it went really well! I only had one class this week because I only have one class on thursdays and my Fridays are free so it was kind of a nice way to get back into the grove of school.

Even though I have been lucky enough to have an easy first week of school I know some of you may not have been that lucky. So that is why I chose this video from POPSUGAR Girl's Guide. If you like cute videos, celebrity gossip videos, cooking videos, and just about everything and more  you will love this YouTube channel! Personally I like the Top That show and their cooking videos so be sure to check those out if that kind of thing interests you!

Thats really it for today, I didn't want to make it too long incase your brain has had too much information intake for the week! Let me know what you are most looking forward to during this year of school! I'm most looking forward to becoming more close to my roommates!

Take care! xxx

New Music!

Hey everyone!

So a few days ago I got an email from a girl named Rachel to check out a an artist that she though I would like. Now you probably don't know this about me but growing up I was in my school choir in both my elementary school and in high school. So when I listen to artists that are very vocal focused ( not pop music) I tend to be kind of critical. Well I am so happy that Rachel shared the amazing talents of Hayley Solano with me because she is a very talented artist but I probably wouldn't have discovered her if it wasn't for the email I received.

I like that she is able to tell stories through her music and get the listener to take the journey with her. She has such a beautiful and calming voice that helps bring the listener into the stories that she is telling through her musical ability. Below I have her latest original song If I Was There and I am not kidding you when I saw that this has just been stuck in my head and I've been playing it constantly. The story behind the song is great and I'm a romantic and London is somewhere that I have considered moving to so I can picture this as a possible romance that I could have. I am the kind of person that likes to put myself in as the main character of the story and with this song I was able to do that.

If you like music that has meaning behind it, or songs that tell a story give this a listen because Hayley Solano is a fantastic artist. She does have original songs like the one I posted but she does also do covers as well from artists like Sam Smith and Katy Perry. She is super talented and if you have a minute to spare give If I Was There a little listen! :)

Back to School!

Hey everyone!

In honor of school starting next week I thought this was a very fitting video. You may have seen this cute and funny family a few months  ago in a video called #XMAS JAMMIES. Well this family is back and there video is just as good if not better than there #XMAS JAMMIES video. This is The Holderness family and they make amazing family videos on YouTube and if you have not seen them yet, you need to get on that.

This is a parody of Sir Mix A Lot's Baby Got Back, and it is perfection. It is the perfect way to lighten the mood to the start of the school year, and can possibly make you excited to go back. I know that I am actually quite excited to get back into a regular schedule and I'm really excited for some of the classes I chose to take for this semester!

I know that going back to school isn't exciting for everyone, but this year try to enjoy it and maybe make a new friend or two. Don't just spend your days hating school, do something to make it enjoyable for you.

TRXYE!!!

Hey everyone!

So for this weeks video I have decided to show, for those that have not already seen/ heard, the amazingness of Happy Little Pill. This is a song off of Troye Sivan's EP TRXY, who is a fantastic YouTuber, Actor, and Musician. He announced that he was coming out with an EP at this years VidCon, and though I didn't attend VidCon I found out from Twitter that we could now pre-order it. Well of course I pre-ordered it, and the first 2000 to pre-order would be getting a signed copy of his album, which obviously would be impossible, right?

It has now been about a month since I've pre-ordered and the release date for the EP was the 15 of August. The only song that had been released off the EP was Happy Little Pill which is an amazing song! On the 12 of August a music video for Happy Little Pill was released and it was great. It was definitely a video that had a depth to it and was very visually appealing, and made sense in the aspect that it actually narrated the lyrics.

It is now the 16 of August and I am beyond words. So yesterday morning I got an email saying this:

I literally read the first line probably about 7 times before I realized what it said. "a signed version of the EP!" Honestly I didn't believe it. I thought it was sent to the wrong person, ir it was just a generic message sent to everyone who pre-ordered and I don't even know, accidentally put in the word signed. I was at work when I got a message from my roommate that a package arrived for me at our house. I knew instantly what it was and I couldn't wait until I got off work. So as soon as I arrived home I went into my room and opened the package. The email had no mistake. I actually got one of the 2000 signed copies  of TRXYE. I sat starring at the signature for about 10 minutes before I could even believe what my eyes were telling me. I still don't even have the words to describe how lucky I feel to have got this.

SEE!!!!! :D

It has now been two days since I got TRXYE and I have listened to this on repeat. I've probably listed to this whole album about 15 times now... actually probably more than that. It is honestly so good. I love every single song off of this EP, it is so raw and emotional and catchy and just fantastic. My favourite song off of TRXYE is definitely Gasoline, it's such an emotionally touching song, and the lyrics are brilliant. If you have not already bought this EP DO IT!! You will love each and every song, I can almost guarantee it.

The video is here for you so you can see how well they did in creating it, but for you to sample what your getting on the EP.

Almost Died of Laughter!

Hey everyone!

So my video of the week is absolutely hilarious! I laughed so hard when I watched this video and I've watched it a few times since then, and I am laughing just as much. If you love Tyler Oakley and/ or Marcus Butler, or even if you don't like them ( are you crazy?) you will LOVE THIS!

So a simple explanation is that this is two guys, inhaling helium, and doing impressions. How is this hilarious? Well, Tyler's laugh is amazing, their impressions are... not the greatest, and did I mention they inhaled helium? If you don't believe (and even If you do) WATCH THIS VIDEO! A lot of my friends are awesome and amazing but they don't all share my love of the internet :( So if you watch this video, or have already watched let me know and we can chat a bit about this or any topic you like!

There is also an outtakes video of this video on Marcus Butlers second channel which is moremarcus so if you liked this, watch the other video too! :)

I promise I will get my schedule back in order and as of next week I will be posting on my usual days! I will be posting an entry this Sunday just because i know I missed one this week, and I will explain more about that on Sunday!

Take care! xxx

Are Your Parents Good Parents?

Hey everyone!

So for my video of the week I thought I should feature something relatable to what I am doing this week. Or more so where I am. So I have a few days off from work this week so I thought instead of staying at home and mostly likely not doing anything productive, that I would go to my moms house for a few days!

So that's where this video comes in. This by a YouTuber by the name of IISuperwomanII, who is so funny and amazing and I am OBSESSED with her videos! She is also Canadian and is from a town pretty close to mine which is pretty cool too! Anyways she does really funny sketches and some of which include the characters of her parents, and they are all really well done and are sure to make you laugh!

This video specifically is Superwoman's parents giving parenting advice, which I immediately showed my mom when I read the title of the video. I loved it and she loved it so watch the video, show your parents, or child, and have a good laugh. Her videos are all great and I always look forward to her videos coming out.

So if you have not yet seen any of her videos check them out because I can almost guarantee that you will love them! She makes very relatable videos for basically everyone so you have no excuse not to watch them!

Anyways that is it for today, so I hope you enjoyed this video because I know that I did! If you have any questions let me know, and if you have videos you think I should watch leave a link or the name of the YouTube channel! :)

Take care! :)

Always Have Confidence

Hey everyone!

So for my video of the week I wanted to bring it to a more serious topic because the past few weeks have been more fun and entertaining videos, which is fine,  but it's nice to talk about the serious stuff as well.

A video came out this week which spoke about a girls confidence and it made me think that still in today's world we in some situations can still be seen as not as good as a boy. Now don't get me wrong this is not some big rant about feminism but as this video shows there is a line when we grow up that is crossed where we no longer have the same confidence as we did when we were younger. This could be a factor of many things, situations, and people but clearly there is something wrong when a 10 year old knows to be themselves to say a 16 who has taken an idea to heart and no longer thinks of a "girl" as a positive thing.

As you can probably tell this is a video of multiple people both female and male in varying ages acting "like a girl". All of the male's make girls out to be a group of people that can't properly do something, for example not able to throw a ball properly. Not only is it the males that think this, it is also the older females too. There is hope though, because the younger girls show the proper way to throw, run, and fight, they don't act like a group of people that are weaker they act like a group of the same level. This is a video that will really make you question your out look on certain things but definitely in a good way. Always did a fantastic job on this video, not matter if it was for promotional purposes or not, it was really well done and was able to get their point across.

That is it for this week! I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and let me know if you have any questions!

Take care! xxx

Crazy Plans and Vloging!

Hey everyone!

So for my video for this week has a few purposes for me to share. First this is a very busy week for me, I am leaving tomorrow morning to spend the day in Toronto for my friends birthday and then tomorrow night I travel to my home town because I'm going down to visit my family for a few days. I will be back to Guelph for the afternoon on Wednesday and then I am leaving for Toronto on Thursday to spend time with one of my best friends and will be back home on July 6th. So with all of this up coming craziness I have decided that I'm going to make vlogs of both my exciting weekends, so those will be up in the next few weeks!

The second part of my reasoning is that have been watching Zoe's or  Zoella's,  as she is known on YouTube, daily vlogs for the month of June everyday. I really enjoy watching daily vlog type videos because I can get new ideas of activities that I can do with my friends and watching them you can feel as if you are really able to see your favourite YouTubers in an unscripted manner which I think is pretty awesome. Now I chose Zoella's vlogs becuase I love the way that she vlogs and that she is very truthful in the way that she acts and even looks, because she'll show the world how she looks with no make-up on which not a lot of people would do. Anyways go watch her main channel and second channel because she makes wonderful videos that I am sure you would love!

My third reasoning is as you may or may not know I spend most of my time on the internet, in which I spend my time blogging and watching YouTube videos. Now in the next few weeks I plan on posting regular videos of me talking about things including fashion, beauty and just regular old life stuff. The reason I'm not currently doing this is because I am still in the process of setting up my room which should be complete in the next few weeks. This is not the first time that I have made videos for my YouTube channel, but I am basically restarting my channel from scratch because I love making videos the only problem that I have is my computer because it is not the best for editing. Around September I will be getting a Macbook Pro so I can make the best videos i possible can (aslo, I have been wanting one for quite awhile!.)

My last reasoning is that seeing all the vlogs from Playlist Live and Vidcon has made me very jealous that I wasn't able to attend so I plan on getting tickets to Playlist Live for February 2015 and I'm hoping next years Vidcon too. It might seem weird that I'm thinking about all of this now but tickets for Playlist go on sale soon so it's not completely crazy!

Anyways watch the video because I promise that you will love it! So if you have any questions about me vloging or my crazy schedule let me know!

Take care! xxx

The Trevor Project

Hey everyone!

Today I am sharing a very important video that is about something that I participated in a few months ago! Now I have been a avid watcher of Tyler Oakley's videos for quite a few years now and when I saw a video about how he, for his birthday would be starting a fundraiser for a organization called The Trevor Project.

If you are not familiar with what The Trevor Project is, it is an organization that focuses on helping prevent suicide in LGBTQ youth by providing sources and a 24/7 hotline to those who need someone to talk to. So Tyler Oakley first set goal amount was reached and by the end of his fundraising he was able to raise more than $500,000.  I did donate to this fundraiser because anybody no matter who they choose to love or who they are should be treated with the respect that everyone deserves. I wasn't able to donate much because I was in school at the time and wasn't working, but I was able to donate $25 dollars which isn't but knowing that I could have maybe had a hand in helping someone choose to live, rather than end their life.

So all in all this is a video that showcases what Tyler Oakley was able achieve with the help of his people. I was lucky enough to be a part of this and I wanted to share this with all of you to make you aware of this fantastic foundation and the amazing things that someone can do to help people.

For making my donation I did get a postcard which makes the fact that I could have helped someone so much more real and it is something that I will hold onto for the rest of my life. If you wan to know more about you can visit The Trevor Project or ask me and I can find out for you!

This is the postcard that I received for donating

My Trip To Toronto!

Hey everyone!

I know I said that I would have my video up by Wednesday and now it’s Sunday, and I am very sorry about that! It took me a lot longer to put this video together then I expected because editing, exporting, and uploading it took almost 10 hours to do. So I tried to finish this by Wednesday but there was no way that it was possible. I was also going to try to get this up on Friday, but I had a visit from one of my best friends and we went and saw the Fault In Our Stars and had a pamper night so I didn’t have time to put it up then either. So please don’t hate me! I did try my best but I am getting it up today so that is all that matters.

So this video is basically my trip to Toronto, I have clips of my hotel, the aquarium, The CN Tower, a short clip of the Science Centre, and the Royal Ontario Museum. I had about 25 minutes of clips so I shortened it as best as I could but I had to speed up a lot of the clips to get everything I wanted into the video.

So I hope you enjoyed this video, I did my best to edit it and I promise the next time I do a video I will give myself a bit more time and have it up when I plan to, not days later. Anyways if you have any suggestions for my next video let me know, or anything else you want me to talk about!

What Is Your Parent Like?

Hey everyone!

So I am back home from my vacation week in Toronto. It was such a blast because where I’m living currently is a pretty small city and there isn’t much to do. Toronto on the other hand has SO much to do and see! My favourite part of the trip had to have been going to Ripley’s Aquarium because there was so many different types of sea creatures to see and some we were able to touch, which was pretty cool! I also did quite a bit of shopping, which required me to buy a big tote bag to be able to take all of my items home. So Monday’s post will be a big haul like post from everything I bought while in Toronto, so watch out for the entry!

Anyways, today was mostly full of traveling back home which kinda sucked because today is actually my birthday. I am officially 20 now, which is my excuse for buying so much while in Toronto. So because I was on vacation this week and was really busy and not really on my laptop during my vacation so I haven’t actually watched many videos this week. Since this is Friday, which means I blog about my favourite video of the week, I was limited with my choices of what I watched, but you will not be disappointed with what I have for this week.

A few months ago I discovered a YouTuber that goes by Superwoman and her channel is IISuperwomanII. She is so funny and relatable, and her videos can all easily make you go “that is so true!” She is actually from a city not too far from mine which is pretty awesome because there are not many Canadian Youtubers that I know about.

So, this video is about the different types of parents, and how certain parents acts in situations that arise pretty often. From this video I can now classify my mom as the cool cat type of parent, and if you want to know what that means watch her video! It is great and I’m sure that you can relate to this because I’m sure your parent(s) act like at least one of these types of parents.

Anyways, I hope you all have had a fantastic week! Let me know what videos I should be watching or whose channel I should check out, I am always up for watching new content.

The Twitter Universe Can Get Great Reactions

Hey everyone!

I know that it is very possible that you have already seen this but if you haven’t, go and watch this as soon as you are done reading this entry. As most of you know Twitter is filled with both good tweets and bad tweets and Jimmy Kimmel has found some of these bad tweets that are directed to celebrities and have the celebrity read them out loud and react to them.

It is absolutely hilarious and my featured video of this week is Celebrities Read Mean Tweets #7. This has to be my favourite out of all of them because of the way that June Squibb, Matthew McConaughey, and Sofia Vergara react. Though they are all brilliant Sofia Vergara is my favourite reaction and you will find out why when you watch the video, I’m not giving any spoilers. So go what this and be thoroughly entertained!

Also, just so you know next week from Monday to Friday I will be in Toronto so my posts might be a bit different, I'm thinking of doing photos from my trip as entries instead of my usual beauty, fashion, or food entry. I might also be taking video footage of my trip so if you want to see a vlog style video of my trip be sure to let me know!
