My Daily Skin Care Routine!

Hey everyone!

Today I thought I would talk about my daily skin care routine. I have a skin type that is generally oily so I tend to breakout more often than other skin types. Lately my skin has been pretty good but because my final exams are coming up, and yours might be as well, and that means that breakouts become more of a possibility due to stress.

So here is my routine:

Step 1:

When I wake up the first thing that I will do is go into the washroom and rinse my face with warm water to make my skin feel refreshed after sleeping.

Step 2:

I will than have a shower and wash my face with the Clean & Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser.

Step 3:

After my shower I will put on my Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer.

Step 4:

At the end of the day before I go to bed I will put on the Clean & Clear Acne Spot Treatment if there is any prominent spots.

Step 5:

Finally after putting on the spot treatment I will put on my acne control moisturizer just so my skin be treated overnight.

So yeah, that is my daily skin care routine. If you have any questions let me know and let me know what you do for you skin care routine because I love trying new products!

Video Bomb!

Hey Everyone!

So for this week’s favourite video I had to go with I had to go with one of the Playlist Live vlogs. The video I chose is actually just a snippet of a full vlog but this video was just too great not so share to more people. So basically if you know what a photobomb is this is better because it is in video form. This is Joe Sugg’s vlog and it is during the flight to Playlist Live and while he is vloging an older women notices and decides that she wants to be in his video.

If you like funny short clips than I think you will really like this or if you are a fan of some of the British YouTubers than you will like this because Joe Sugg is in this, as well as Caspar Lee who is an African YouTuber.

I also wanted to talk about Playlist Live in this entry because there is so many vlogs that came out this past week. I am so sad that I was not able to go to Playlist this year, but I have already made plans to go next year because it is one thing that I need to experience at least once in my life. YouTube is what I spend most of my time on and I enjoy watching so many YouTubers videos that I idolize, and I think it would just be awesome to meet some of them. It would also be nice to go down to Orlando because I have never traveled anywhere tropical before so that will be pretty cool too.

Here's the video:

Anyways sorry for missing an entry this week, I’ve been super busy with assignments but I am all finished with my assignments for the year and I will be finished my first year of university in just two weeks so I will be able to post whenever!

Procrastination

Hey everyone!

Today I wanted to talk about something that I have problems dealing with especially in school. Procrastination. I have such a hard time starting an assignment early no matter how important the assignment is. I’ll begin to start it, but end up on the internet, usually on YouTube and say to myself “one video, and then I will start.” Only that never happens. I end up getting sucked into the internet vortex for 2 hours and then just give up on even trying to do my assignment. I will usually end up doing my assignment either the day before it’s due, or the day of. I have a problem. I don’t know exactly when this problem started but I’m pretty sure it has gotten worse since I have been in university.

I don’t know how to get out of the habit of procrastinating, and I am sure I am not the only one with this problem. It is almost the end of my first year in university so there is no sense in fixing it right now, but for my second year my procrastination issues is something that I want to fix. I don’t know if I will be able to do it because I know that habits are hard to break, but if I can at least stop doing things completely last minute than I will be a bit happier.

If anyone else has issues with procrastination let me know! Also, if you were a procrastinator and were able to conquer it please let me know how you did it, because I am in desperate need of fixing this problem!

I though this was a fitting image.

Consent

Hey everyone!

So I have decided for my Friday entries I will be posting my
faviourte video of the week for now on. This can be a video from YouTube, a
Vine (I occasionally watch them), and even just a movie that I watched that I
think other people would like. Basically they will be a “what have I watched
this week post” and might also sometimes feature an article if I come across
one that I feel other people need to see. The reason that I am starting this is
because I am on my computer every day, watching videos, TV shows, and movies so
I thought I would share that part of my life with everyone else.

The video that I am featuring this week is on the more serious side of things and is a video by
charlieissocoollike who is a YouTuber that I am subscribed to and his videos
are fantastic. They are mostly vlog like videos but he has also made some short
films and has done some collaborations. This video is called Sex & Consent
and it is basically a video about consent during sex, and how no means no even
if you didn’t say no.  He talked about
how any type of sign that another other partner didn’t appear to be into the
sexual activity that it should stop, even if the other person didn’t directly
say no. Something like this may happen to you in the future and I want you to be prepared with what to do.

I am being very honest right now, and will say that something
like this has happened to me in the past. I wasn’t physically forced to do something
but I knew at the time my partner wanted me to participate in sexual activity
that I wasn’t ready for but in the heat of things I was pushed to do something
that I knew I didn’t want to do, and I know I didn’t say anything but it was
pretty obvious that I didn’t want to participate. I gave in to what he wanted
because at that time I had only had one boyfriend and was very inexperienced
with things so I did what he wanted, fearing that if I didn’t that our time
together would have been over. I know now what he did was wrong and I was wrong
for not saying anything but it’s in the past and I can’t do anything about it
now. What I can do though is tell YOU to do the opposite thing that I did in
that situation because I regret not saying no, and not pushing for what I wanted.

Sorry, if that was information that maybe you didn’t want to
read, but I want people to know that it is not okay if their partner or others
are making them participate in things that they do not consent to. I have
posted the video down below if you are interested in watching it, I highly recommend!
It is both a serious video with a few bits of comedy so if you ware one to not
like completely serious videos, you’ll probably like it.

Not all the videos I post will entail such serious topics,
most will be comedy, but when I saw this I wanted to get this message across to
more people. Anyways enjoy the video and if you have any questions let me know!

Volunteering!

Hey everyone!

So this afternoon I volunteered for an event at my school, which I had to say was a pretty awesome experience. It was for previous studio art majors who are considering my university to get their masters in fine arts. It was awesome to see the work of the current students at my university both in undergraduate programs and in the masters program. It made me realize that art was really something that I want to get into, and will for sure be pursuing as a career choice. It also made me realize other areas of work that I would like to get into besides just photography, like metal work and print making.

There was also a fantastic lecture given by Roberta Smith who is an art critic. I have never really head much about the critic side of art so it was very interesting to hear her view of things. Mostly though I spent my time outside making sure people knew where to go and answer any questions that they had.

For volunteering for this event all who volunteered got a gift bag, which I was unaware of, but was so mice of them. We all received basically the same things, small variations of some of the objects but all were very awesome.

So this is what I got in my gift bag:

So this is the envelope that it all came in. Each envelop was decorated differently than all the rest.

A thank you card from all the artists featured in the open studios.

Two packets of hot chocolate.

One of artist Jon Sasaki's "I'VE PAID MY DUES" multiples.

A print of work done by current MFA student Denise Higginson.

Two issues of Border Crossings.

This was a fantastic and much appreciated gift bag that I find absolutely amazing that each of the volunteers were given. I had an amazing time and loved getting to see what students at my university can produce. This event made me love my school even more that I did before. I guess that is all for now, any questions about this or anything I received let me know!

Spring is Coming!

Hey everyone!

So as spring is coming in just a few days I thought I would talk about some of my favourite spring products. Living in Southern Ontario right now sucks because there is still snow, and the temperature will be in the positives one day and then crush our dreams the next day by being freezing cold again. Recently I have stopped caring about how cold it is and have begun wearing my spring clothes again. Hopefully in the next few weeks winter will finally leave for good so I can enjoy some nice weather for a few days in a row, rather than just for one day.

So, I have a few must have items including a couple shades of nail polish, floral prints, and some tops that are light and breezy but can be paired with a cardigan if it’s not too warm outside. Some of what I Have includes:

Rimmel  London in 420 Sweet Lavender, 140 French Rose, and 120 Hot Chilli Pepper.

Bath & Body Works Country Chic fragrance mist.

Floral quarter sleeve cardigan and Mint Green floral top from Target.

Floral tank tops from Garage.

An off white embroidered top and a lace paisley top from Forever 21.

These are just a few of my Spring favourites and I will definitely be adding more to my collection as the months past. If anyone wants to see what these look like on just let me know and I can do a post later showing different ways to wear these items, if anyone is interested. Anyways that is all for now!

Cotton Candy

Hey Everyone!

First off I would like to say I’m sorry for not posting yesterday, I had a few assignments to finish and by the time I was done I ended up forgetting that I needed to make a post on here. Anyways, on with what I plan on talking about today.

This week I was reminded to remember the little things in life that can make you happy, because happiness is the part of life that makes it amazing. It can be as simple as giving and getting a complement, do something that can make someone else happy, and even enjoying something you loved as a child. This week was kind of a stressful week for me because I have a had a lot to do for school lately, and I have had trouble finding a job but all of that went away when I enjoyed some cotton candy. Yes, cotton candy. My residence’s eatery likes to have theme nights sometimes and it was themes diner night which included diner foods, a root beer float, and some good old cotton candy. Now I don’t know about the rest of you, but I know when I have cotton candy I feel like a kid again having the time of my life at a fair. I was wonderful. I have always loved cotton candy, it’s light, fluffy, melts in your mouth, and overall tastes fantastic, but I think for me what has always made it good it that I have never understood how sugar can turn into almost something that looks like cotton or wool, and then melt in your mouth in just a few seconds.  Cotton candy is something that can instantly make me feel happy and experience wonderment no matter how I was feeling beforehand.

This isn’t the only thing that can make me feel this way, but I forgot how amazing cotton candy was until I had it this week. So when you’re feeling down do something that makes you happy, and even giving someone a compliment or paying for someone’s coffee will make the other person happy and you’d be surprised at how good it can make you feel by doing something for someone else.
The wonderfully delicious cotton candy I had.

Food Temptations

Hey everyone!

As you know from some of my previous posts I am currently in university right now. Being in university and living in residence there are a few changes between your lifestyle at home and your lifestyle living in residence. As some of you are preparing to be going to university or college next year it’s good to know what to expect when living away from home. One of the biggest changes that you will probably notice when living in residence is your eating habits. As weird as that sounds I know that since living in residence my eating habits have definitely changed since leaving home. Luckily for me my campus has a great selection of healthy food choices which I usually go after but I have gotten into the habit of getting a slice of pizza when I can’t decide what I want. Recently I've been better at choosing a more healthy option than pizza, but there have been some days where I’ll slip into the pizza trap.

Now besides eating the food that your campus offers it is always good to be keeping some snacks in your room so you’re not going to the vending machine all the time or going for the delicious baked goods that your school offers. At home you are probably used to eating whenever you want because it’s easy to get up and look in your pantry for chips, crackers, or even an apple, but you don’t have access to that amount of food in your room (or at least most don’t.) What I have done since being in residence is I go grocery shopping every week or every two weeks and get a few things to snack on. Not all have to be healthy snacks because it is always nice to treat yourself but having unhealthy snacks in your room, as I have learned from experience, don’t last too long because they are so delicious.

So to give some examples of what I get during my grocery trips are the following items:

These are Oikos Greek Yogurt in coconut and fig flavored.

Cranberries covered in Greek yogurt ( yes I am currently loving Greek yogurt.)

Arthurs Green Energy Smoothie just to add more fruits and veggies into my diet.

Rold Gold chocolate dipped pretzels.

These are just some of the types of food products that I like to have in my dorm room because I like to have snacks when I'm working or to satisfy my hunger until around a usual meal time. As I said you shouldn't just get healthy snacks it's nice to have a bag of chips laying around, just don't go crazy with the chip and candy aisle. Even buying fruit like apples, grapefruit, and pomegranates, which I've bought since being in residence, are just nice to have at hand when you are wanting a fresh food item.

Anyways, I hope this helps some of you out their who maybe need some help with what and what not to buy while in residence because it is very easy to get carried away when you don't have your parents watching over you. If any of you are or have been in residence feel free to leave a comment about your favourite food choice because I am always looking to try new things, and I am sure others would like to hear what you have to say.

Take care! xxx

P.s I now have a Bloglovin account for those that are interested.

New Flavors

Hey everyone!

So I went home this weekend which was really nice since it’ll be the last time I make it home before my finals are over. I got to spend time with my mom, my siblings, and my kitties which I always miss when I’m away at school. Anyway, while I was at home I was told by my mom that there was these two new chocolate bars from Cadbury that were out that sounded absolutely delicious! Cadbury has come out with a Caramel Popcorn and a Cookie Dough chocolate bar which I think is absolutely genius of them. So we didn't know if they were going to be sold in Canada because usually we don’t get the fun flavors or food as much as the United States does, which sucks.

Anyhow we went out shopping on Saturday and when to Target to pick up something’s and decided to check if they had the chocolate bars. THEY DID! At first we only found the Caramel Popcorn bar in one of the side stands but we went to their candy aisle and found the Cookie Dough one too!

We went home broke up the bars to share and delved into Cadbury’s wonderful creations. Now both my mom and I thought that we would have liked the Cookie Dough one better than the Caramel Popcorn, but we were definitely mistaken. The Caramel Popcorn bar had fair sized bits of popcorn that went really well with the Cadbury chocolate, it was amazing! The Cookie Dough bar was also good but the chunks of cookie dough weren't big enough or their just wasn't as much so It was mostly just the chocolate that you could taste, it was very hard to tell that there was cookie dough in the bar. Over all I would have to say they were both pretty good, but I would only buy the Caramel Popcorn bar again.

This is what they look like if anyone wants to know what to look for. :)

If you've tried them let me know what you thought of them or if you are thinking about trying them! I’m very excited to see what other kind of crazy combinations Cadbury or other candy bar companies can come up with next!

My Saviour!

Hey everyone!

I recently got a new product for my daily skin care routine and I have to say it is absolutely amazing! It is a daily moisturizer and since purchasing the product about two weeks ago it has worked wonders. Since I live in Canada it is still winter here and over the past few months my skin has been getting worse and worse. I was using a moisturizer but it contained acne medication which was drying out my skin rather than moisturizing, which I was in dire need of. So I set out to my local drug store and found what I was in desperate need of.

The product is from Clean & Clear and it is their morning burst hydrating gel moisturizer. It is an inexpensive product that has really helped my skin over the past couple of weeks. It is an oil-free product which is great for those of us who suffer from oily skin. It contains mango and cucumber extracts which is great for your skin it is also very light on the skin which I really like because the feeling of heavy products irritates me quite a lot, and it also smells pretty good so that’s an added benefit. Now I don’t only use it in the morning I also use it at night as well just because it is such a good moisturizer and I've been very happy with the result.
The packaging of the morning burst moisturizer is typical for any of the other Clean & Clear products. It  overall fairly attractive packaging but nothing too special, it is a turquoise tube which I like for skin care products because it makes it easier to minimize any possible waste of the product. It is about $6.99 so a very good price for a good moisturizing product and it is 85 mL so it should last quite a while. This product can be found at your local drug store, Target, grocery store, and Walmart if any of you are interested in purchasing the moisturizer.

I hope this little review can help some of you out there if you are debating on getting this moisturizer, it’s helped me so I’m sure it would help someone else. If anyone has used this product before I would love to know what you thought about it!

This is the product if anyone was wanting to see what it looked like.

Decision Making

Hey everyone!

As I said in my last entry I am in university right now and I will be finishing my first year in just over a month. Since beginning university in September I have realized a few very important things that I thought should be shared to people going into university or college next year. Now I know that this time of year applicants are receiving acceptance letters from the schools that they applied to, and some maybe receiving letters with not so good news. The thing you need to know is that if you still haven’t received anything as of now it is okay, do not worry! I didn't receive my acceptance letter to my university until about mid-March, and some like a few of my friends didn't receive their acceptance until late April. So do not panic if you haven’t received any or all replies yet.

The other thing you need to not do is go with the first school that sent a reply. It may be your first choice but wait until you receive all of the schools replies before making your final choice, it is always good to make sure with what you feel is the best option for you. With this, also make sure to visit the schools before making your final decision because the school may seem nice on their website, but you’ll never truly know until you see it in person.

Also when picking schools make sure that you are making decisions based off of yourself, not your friends or even family, because you are the one that will be attending said school. My two closes friends are both going to two different schools and we still talk all the time and we see each other pretty often, so make sure that you are choosing the school for you, not for anyone else.

My last tip of advice for when applying and choosing schools is make sure that you are choosing the program that you want to take. If you are unsure of what you want to do that take an undeclared major for first year, you don’t have to make a final decision until you experience some of the classes in university. From my personal experience I applied to a program that I felt was the more appropriate one and I’m not happy with what I choose, but I am also in the process of changing my major into what I really want to be doing. So if you wind up not liking the program you chose talk to someone about switching into your desired program.

Anyways, I hope that this can help some of you who are struggling with what to do in the stressful times of deciding what to do for university or college. If you have any questions feel free to ask me, I’ll answer in my next entry if I get any.

I'm very luck to have such a beautiful campus!

Thanks!

Have a great day! xxx

P.s. I have decided that I will  be making entries every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, if that information interests any one!

Trying Something New

Hello!

Welcome to my blog! I will be posting weekly on here about things that I am doing in my life, tips that I’ve learned, monthly favourites, haul entries, and advice on things if in the future I’m asked by someone. For now I’ll tell you a bit about myself just as a bit of an introduction. My name is Emily, I am 19 years old and currently in university. I live in Ontario, Canada in a city that is about an hour south from Toronto, for those who are from or know a bit about Ontario. I am a very big fan of social media sites such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Tumblr, and due to my obsession with the internet I am probably on the internet more than the average person (10/7).

If you want links to any of my social media sites (excluding Facebook) I would be happy to give them to you, just comment and I’ll put links up. As of right now I will be updating the layout of this blog so it looks a bit nicer than it does right now, so be prepared for that.

Anyways I hope that you will enjoy seeing the things I post because I know that I will love making these entries. If you have any suggestions on weekly topics or things that I can do to improve my blog do hesitate in doing so, I would love feedback if people are actually reading what I’m posting.

Thanks!

Have a great week! xxx
