More Foreign Treats!

Hey everyone!

So I have some more foreign goodies that I would like to let you know about! Again I found these in my local Walmart so if you are wanting to get your hands on these products I'm sure that you will be able to find them.

Asia:

This is meiji's Hello Panda and not only is it really yummy it is super cute! Each little cookie has it's own cute panda design which does make it hard to eat because it is too cute but so worth it. On the outside is a cookie shell and the inside is filled with this great chocolate filling. Overall I will definitely be buying this again because it was just a great little treat to have!

Now when I got this I didn't know if I would like this or not because I'm not usually a fan of Pistachio's. However Britannia's Pistachio and Almond Cookies have changed my mind about pistachios. When I bought these I didn't realize that they had pistachio's in them, I was too distracted by my love of almonds to notice that it contained pistachios as well. All in all these were pretty good! They aren't at the top of my repurchase list but I won't rule them out.

Germany:

Now this was something that I also was not completely sure I would like because I am not a big fan of wafer cookies. These are Gut and Gunstig's Mignon Waffeln and I ended up really liking them! These were smaller wafers that were coated in chocolate so of course I would like them, how could I not? These have a nice hazelnut taste to them and you can use these as your moderation chocolate because they are pretty rich tasting so I am only able to have a few at a time.

Anyways, that is it for today! I'm sorry that this is late but I am just getting back into a school and woking schedule so balancing things is going to be a bit rocky this month, but I promise to do my best!

More Healthy Snacks!

Hey everyone!

So I have found some more yummy and healthy snacks that I want to share with all of you! Now in Guelph we don’t have a health food store currently, but in the next few months there will be one, so finding nice healthy snacks isn’t the easiest. Now it may seem like a weird place where I picked these up, but I got these snacks from Home Sense. Now I didn’t go into Home Sense specifically for these items I am currently in the process of fixing up my room so I was looking around for some inspiration. While I was in there I came across these super yummy treats!

Mixed Root Chips - $2.99

 n

So the first one I picked up is Mixed Roots Chips by jans. I got them in their Rosemary Garlic flavour and they are made from orange and purple sweet potatoes, and the root of the tropical plants called Cassave and Taro. These are supposed to have quite a bit of fiber in them and 30% less fat in them than other potato chips. Now I can’t tell you if those are completely true, what I can tell you though is that these taste amazing and I don’t feel like I’m eating a lot of unhealthy ingredients or that it just oily with a bit of potato to go with the oil. These are really good and if you can find them in a store around you do it! (Especially if you are like me and love the taste of garlic.)
Baked Fries - $2.99

The other snack food I got is Snikiddy’s Baked Fries in their Cheddar Cheese flavour. I love cheese flavoured things, like white cheddar popcorn if my favourite and I love the Nacho Cheese dip from Tostitios. These are made from potato flakes and cornmeal and are supposed to have been made with non-GMO products and have 50% less fat than regular potato chips. Now again these statements are just from the packaging so that is where that information is coming from. What I can tell you is that these taste so good and has a nice natural cheese taste to them and if you could tell in the picture I have already opened them and I am already almost halfway done them! (The Root chips I opened to be able to get a photo of them in the bowl!)

So let me know if you like any other snacks from these brands or if you have any other suggestions of healthy snack foods please let me know!

Yummy Treat!

Hey everyone!

I have recently discovered a yummy and healthy treat that I think you all would really enjoy. I was just browsing through Home Sense to kill time before going to work when I saw Chia seeds which I have been looking for so I picked those up and went to the check out. I was waiting for the next till to open up and I saw the Chia that I was getting in the line area and I noticed a package that was right beside them. I picked it up curious and read what it was just to pass the time waiting in line, and it sounded like something that I would really enjoy.

It is a product called Banana Coconut Snackaroons and they are absolutely delicious. I have always loved food that contains coconut and I really enjoy the taste of banana so I went out on a whim and got this just to try. Well it was a great decision because as soon as I tried one I knew that this had become one of my new favourite treats.

This is by Laughing Giraffe Organics and contains ingredients such as unsweetened Coconut, Agave, Almonds, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Banana, Vanilla Extract, and Himalayan Pink Salt. Each bag contains about 8 of the banana coconut treats and one of them is a pretty decent size so you would probably only want one for a little dessert. Once these are done I am going to try to find more of their products and see how I find them, and I will let you all know what I think!

So let me know if you have tried these products and what you thought of them if you did! Or if you know of similar products I would really love to know what they are!

Quick and Easy Brownie In a Mug Recipe!

Hey everyone!

Today I’ve decided to change things up a bit and talk about an easy recipe that is quick to make, and yummy to eat. This is a great recipe if you only want to make a single serving or if you only have a limited amount of time to make a yummy treat. I wouldn’t say that this is the healthiest of treats but it sure is yummy!

For this recipe you will need:

A mug
2 tablespoons of melted butter or margarine
2 tablespoons of water
½ tablespoon of vanilla extract
2 tablespoons of flour
2 tablespoons of sugar
2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
And a pinch of salt
Optional: Berries to put on top when finished cooking

In my opinion it is easier to start by melting the butter in the mug so that there is a minimal amount of dishes being dirtied. Then go on by adding the water and vanilla extract. After those ingredients have been added to the mug add the rest of the ingredients in any order because this is a recipe that doesn’t have to follow a specific guideline.  After all the ingredients have been added to the mug mix it together until it is a smooth and even consistency.  When you are all done mixing pop the mug into the microwave for between 45-60 seconds (depending on the power of your microwave.) Now you can enjoy your delicious treat, but if you want to add a final step feel free to add a few berries on top to make it even better!

The finished product!
I hope that you enjoy this recipe because I know I do! This is perfect if you are only making food for yourself and don’t want to have to make a full batch of something to enjoy a yummy dessert from time to time. I know personally this is a great recipe for students because it’s easy to make and you don’t have to make a big batch that could possible go to waste.

If you have any questions about this or anything else let me know! :)
