More Foreign Treats!

Hey everyone!

So I have some more foreign goodies that I would like to let you know about! Again I found these in my local Walmart so if you are wanting to get your hands on these products I'm sure that you will be able to find them.

Asia:

This is meiji's Hello Panda and not only is it really yummy it is super cute! Each little cookie has it's own cute panda design which does make it hard to eat because it is too cute but so worth it. On the outside is a cookie shell and the inside is filled with this great chocolate filling. Overall I will definitely be buying this again because it was just a great little treat to have!

Now when I got this I didn't know if I would like this or not because I'm not usually a fan of Pistachio's. However Britannia's Pistachio and Almond Cookies have changed my mind about pistachios. When I bought these I didn't realize that they had pistachio's in them, I was too distracted by my love of almonds to notice that it contained pistachios as well. All in all these were pretty good! They aren't at the top of my repurchase list but I won't rule them out.

Germany:

Now this was something that I also was not completely sure I would like because I am not a big fan of wafer cookies. These are Gut and Gunstig's Mignon Waffeln and I ended up really liking them! These were smaller wafers that were coated in chocolate so of course I would like them, how could I not? These have a nice hazelnut taste to them and you can use these as your moderation chocolate because they are pretty rich tasting so I am only able to have a few at a time.

Anyways, that is it for today! I'm sorry that this is late but I am just getting back into a school and woking schedule so balancing things is going to be a bit rocky this month, but I promise to do my best!

A Taste of Foreign Treats!

Hey everyone!

So this week I thought I might change it up a bit and do something a bit different! I decided to go out and get some treats from other countries that I haven't tried before and let you know what I thought of them. I went to Walmart to get these so that of you are interested in trying anything I talk about, you can most likely purchase it. I'm doing this in two parts; today I am talking about treats from Italy and England!

Italy:

So I picked up a package of Mix Max which is made by Balconi. I really liked these ones, the package came with 10 and each one is individually wrapped. The Mix Max is basically a small vanilla cake with chocolate icing in the middle and chocolate coating the outside of the cake. It is a really lite cake but very yummy! This would be something that I would definitely get again!

These are Gioia Savoiardi Biscuits or Ladyfingers as most North Americans know them. These were pretty good, I have never had them before but I have heard of them before. I only had them plain but I'm sure that it i had them with some type of dip or Nutella it would be really tastey. I'm going to try different things with them but they did taste alright when eaten plain.

England:

This has to be what heaven tastes like. It is not a complicated chocolate but it is SO good! The Flake bar from Cadbury is basically chocolate that has been formed by making individual thin layers and I don't know why, but it is delicious! It is just plain milk chocolate but it just tastes so good!

Now this one had to be my absolute favourite thing that I tried. My favourite chocolate bar had been a Mars Bar for a very long time, but I think it has been replaced by this amazing creation. This is also by Cadbury and it is their Double Decker bar and it is amazing! it it has layer of nougat and a layer of  some type of cookie and covered in chocolate. I don't know how I have survived this long without this candy bar in my life.

Next week I will be posting the second part to this and it will contain treats from Germany and Asia. If you have any other suggestions of foods I should try please let me know and I will try to find them!

Favourite Eateries!

Hey everyone!

So I spent the weekend back in my home town to spend time with my family, and celebrate Mothers Day and my moms birthday all in the same weekend. While I was in my home town I went to a few of my favorite eateries and if you are ever in the Cambridge area I highly suggest you check these places out.

The first place I want to talk about first is a cafe called Brown Dog. It is open all year round and serves up delicious treats and beverages.

The interior of the cafe is so cute and has a lot of vintage decor, which is one of my favourite things about this place. It also shows old silent films throughout the whole day and have a nice couch area where you can sit and enjoy the show and your order. (Sorry you can't really see the film, this was in the afternoon so the sun made it hard to see.)

This is just one of the cute vintage decor items that they have all through out the cafe. The decorations that they have throughout the cafe are all very cute and give off a feeling of home.

They have these cute numbers signs to give each customer so they can call orders and what I got was a Peachy Keen Fog.

As well as a deep fried mars bar. Both were so delicious and it was a fantastic treat to have in the afternoon. My mom ordered the same things that I did and we both agreed that the drink was very refreshing especially since it was quite warm outside. It was lovely going to Brown Dog during my weekend visit and as always the food and drinks were delicious.

Another one of my favourite places to get a treat is an Ice Cream parlor that is stationed in an old train. Indulge is only open during the late spring and the end of the summer months, but it is always an exciting time when it opens.

The prices for their different sizes and offers are great and they always give a generous amount of ice cream. I usually get my ice cream in a bowl, but they do make homemade waffle cones in the train so when waiting to pick your flavour(s) of ice cream you get this nice vanilla scent as you wait.

They also offer a number of different and delicious flavours including the two kinds that I had this weekend. I got a scoop of Raspberry Truffle and Pineapple and Orange Sherbet. It's the perfect amount of ice cream and it is the perfect way to end a summers day.

If you have any questions let me know and feel free to leave comments about your favourite spots to eat!
