Back to School!

Hey everyone!

In honor of school starting next week I thought this was a very fitting video. You may have seen this cute and funny family a few months  ago in a video called #XMAS JAMMIES. Well this family is back and there video is just as good if not better than there #XMAS JAMMIES video. This is The Holderness family and they make amazing family videos on YouTube and if you have not seen them yet, you need to get on that.

This is a parody of Sir Mix A Lot's Baby Got Back, and it is perfection. It is the perfect way to lighten the mood to the start of the school year, and can possibly make you excited to go back. I know that I am actually quite excited to get back into a regular schedule and I'm really excited for some of the classes I chose to take for this semester!

I know that going back to school isn't exciting for everyone, but this year try to enjoy it and maybe make a new friend or two. Don't just spend your days hating school, do something to make it enjoyable for you.

Getting Organized!

Hey everyone!

As I said on Monday this is all about getting organized! School has started for some of you already but I have until September 4th until University starts up for me! So lately I have been collecting books and things that will help me get organized for school. During the school year I will be working a part time job, but I also plan to put up 3ish blog posts a week and Starting mid September I will be making either weekly or bi-weekly videos (I haven't decided yet.)

Now this is the calendar, or planner that I got from Target. This  is more of a "everything I am doing is going into this". This a year long planner and it has sections for each month where there is a page of the whole month and than the next pages are more detailed areas  for each day with an area to write down more details of what is going on during a specific day. I use this to write down the days that I'm working, blog ideas for certain days, and any events or plans that I have. I have been using this for most of my summer and it has been so helpful!

Sorry for the really bad photo's of these ( I haven't
painted yet and my walls don't seem to be straight!)

Anyways with all that I will be doing during the school year I need to be very organized if I want to be able to do all the things I want to do. So my first step in getting organized was to buy a calendar. As simple as that sounds it is actually a very helpful resource and my monthly calendar is one that I got last September from my Universities Bookstore. It is a dry erase calendar and it is a two sided calendar. The side that I use is just the single month calendar but on the other side is a four month calendar  which is where my second calendar comes in handy! Yes, I have more than one calendar... Anyways on my one month calendar I put my plans for the month, and assignments and quizzes for schools that are due. My four month calendar I also got last year but this was a free dry erase calendar that I got during my frosh week. For this calendar I put due dates for all of my assignments so at all times I can see when things are going to be due and plan out when I should do them. My second calendar isn't very detailed but I usually put enough to know what class and assignment is due.

Onto notes and things! For my school notes it depends on the class for me decide how I want to take my notes. For most of my classes I type notes up on my laptop during lectures, but there is still a few classes that I like to write hand written notes. Anyways, I have Five Star binders for the classes that I like to write out the lecture notes, and usually for my typed notes I have one word document for each class with bold lettering for the lecture title and date and then my notes below that.

Now since I plan to still blog as much as I have been and I want to be making videos frequently I bought a cute little  Be Happy notebook  from Chapters to carry around with me. In this I write blog ideas, video ideas, and just little things that I need to remember or how I'm feeling in one moment. It is basically going to be a notebook filled with everything and anything.

Also, as I explained in my last post I bought this adorable Hedgehog Desk Tidy and I am definitely obsessed with it! I also bought a cute P.S. post it note pad to use with it. I bought both items from Chapters and they were both very affordable! The Hedgehog Desk Tidy was around $8.99 and the P.S. post it note pad was $3.00! I love these and it will really help me remember things when I'm usually forgetting everything! (I do have a full post about the Hedgehog Desk tidy if you are interested in reading that!)

Anyways I hope this is helpful for some of you who are really wanting to get organized! If you have any tips or tricks please let me know because I want to be as organized as I can!

Take care!

Cute Hedgehog Organizer!

Hey everyone!

Today I want to share with you the cutest desk organizer that I have found! I was in Chapters as one does when the go to buy books, and as I was waiting in the checkout line, my eyes spotted the most adorable thing ever! Now I do have an extreme want for a hedgehog but do to my landlord not wanting us to have pets, this is my stand-in hedgehog for now.

It is from a brand called Paladone and it is their Hedgehog Desk Tidy.Since school is starting very soon I have been gathering organizational things so that this year I will be super organized with assignments, reading, blog things, and videos. So when I saw this, I knew that I had to get it. I will be using it to prop up little reminder notes while I'm at my desk working. I know last year I slacked in organization which ended up with me doing assignments last minute, That will not be happening this year!

So with my Hedgehog Desk Tidy I will stay more on track this year. Along with this I have bought a few more organizational things, and I will be posting that on Wednesday. I just thought that this cute little desk ornament deserved it;s own post! If you have any tips or tricks with organization please let me know because I want to do all I can to get my life organized!

Starbucks Obsessed!

Hey everyone!

So today is going to be an ultimate "white girl" blog entry. Yes, I am confessing that I have an addiction to Starbucks. Now I am from Canada so until a few years ago Starbucks wasn't in every city like it is today so up until a couple of years ago I had never had anything from Starbucks, all I knew about it was that it was pretty expensive. Until that wonderful(ish) summer.

A couple summers ago I went to summer school to get into an advanced English course to be able to go to university. It was not fun because it was a full day of school but all we did was one single course, so by the end of that summer I did not want to be in another English class for quite awhile. Anyways in front of the school there was a Starbucks and for the first time while attending summer school I had my first drink from Starbucks.

It doesn't look so pretty now but I can promise you that before the whip cream melted it looked very nice with cinnamon sprinkled on top!

The first drink I had was a Mocha Coconut Frappuccino which was my favourite drink for a long time.... until they got rid of it. Now, if anything I would get a Caramel Macchiato either hot or iced depending on the weather. Lately though I have been getting their Cinnamon Dolce Latte, which is so incredibly delicious! I only tried this for the first time about two weeks ago and I have had a ridiculous amount since then. It is like drinking liquid Fall as weird as that sounds. It's pretty close to their Pumpkin Spice Latte... only it doesn't have the pumpkin taste. Anyways it is so good, and I feel like curling up and watching movies while I drink it like's a cool day of fall and all you want is a nice warm drink, you know?  Or is it just me? Anyways, it is super delicious and if you have not had it yet do it... or not because you might become addicted like me.

Anyways, I hope all of you have had a fantastic weekend and if you are a Starbucks addict like me let me know so I know I'm not alone. :)

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge!

Hey everyone!

So yesterday I was nominated by one of my best friends Malaika to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge! I'm sure by now you know what this is because it has gone viral in the last few days, but if you don't it is a challenge in which  you fill a bucket with water and ice and dump it over you to simulate the sort of symptoms brought on from having ALS.

If you do the Ice Bucket Challenge you can donate a minimum amount of $10.00 to the ALS Association, if you are not up for the challenge you are supposed to donate a minimum of $100.00. I have chosen to donate $50.00, which I know isn't that much but it's a little something that can help a great cause.

I know its not the best quality of video as it is slightly out of focus but that's because I filmed it on my own and my camera decided that auto focus was no longer a thing. Even though it isn't the greatest video this is my featured video of the week because it is for a great cause.

If you haven't done this yet or are just wanting to donate just click here to donate and it will lead you to the ALSA's Ice Bucket Challange page! Leave links to your Ice Bucket Challenge videos or email them to me because I would love to see your reactions :)

Scents and Things!

 Hey everyone!

Earlier this week I had a very nice visit from my Aunt who lives quite far away from me. Though she lives very far away we always have this tradition of having dinner and seeing a movie whenever she comes down for a visit. So we went to East Side Mario's for dinner and then we went to the movies to go what Into The Storm. Dinner was fantastic and the movie was so good and had me on the edge of my seat the while time, but it freaked me out so much! I live in Southern Ontario so I know that I don't really have to worry about tornado's but this movie completely made me think all of the "what if?" questions and had me a bit worried. Along with the nice visit she also brought me a few gifts, and that's my whole reason for making this post.

She not only got me a bag of tealights ( I love candles), a very cute bag from Mexx, and the most amazing thing ever! She got me a Natural Soapstone Oil Burner from The Body Shop and it is my new favourite thing. I've used it almost everyday for the past week and I will definitely be using it for the foreseeable future! With the Oil Burner she got me one of their Home Fragrance Oil in the scent Satsuma, which is one of my very favourite scents ever!

So how this amazing contraption works is you fill the little bowl on top of the base with about halfway with water. In the water you put about 3-4 drops of oil into the water that should be enough but if it doesn't seem strong enough just add some more.

After you have the oil all sorted out light a tealight under the bowl and leave it lit for no longer then 20 minutes! Your room will be left smelling amazing and I always find that candles are quite relaxing.

The Body Shops Home Fragrance Oil bottles are quite small but only a small drop comes out of the top so it will last you a very long time! Also if you like oranges i really recommend that you get the Satsuma scent because it is so amazing!!

TRXYE!!!

Hey everyone!

So for this weeks video I have decided to show, for those that have not already seen/ heard, the amazingness of Happy Little Pill. This is a song off of Troye Sivan's EP TRXY, who is a fantastic YouTuber, Actor, and Musician. He announced that he was coming out with an EP at this years VidCon, and though I didn't attend VidCon I found out from Twitter that we could now pre-order it. Well of course I pre-ordered it, and the first 2000 to pre-order would be getting a signed copy of his album, which obviously would be impossible, right?

It has now been about a month since I've pre-ordered and the release date for the EP was the 15 of August. The only song that had been released off the EP was Happy Little Pill which is an amazing song! On the 12 of August a music video for Happy Little Pill was released and it was great. It was definitely a video that had a depth to it and was very visually appealing, and made sense in the aspect that it actually narrated the lyrics.

It is now the 16 of August and I am beyond words. So yesterday morning I got an email saying this:

I literally read the first line probably about 7 times before I realized what it said. "a signed version of the EP!" Honestly I didn't believe it. I thought it was sent to the wrong person, ir it was just a generic message sent to everyone who pre-ordered and I don't even know, accidentally put in the word signed. I was at work when I got a message from my roommate that a package arrived for me at our house. I knew instantly what it was and I couldn't wait until I got off work. So as soon as I arrived home I went into my room and opened the package. The email had no mistake. I actually got one of the 2000 signed copies  of TRXYE. I sat starring at the signature for about 10 minutes before I could even believe what my eyes were telling me. I still don't even have the words to describe how lucky I feel to have got this.

SEE!!!!! :D

It has now been two days since I got TRXYE and I have listened to this on repeat. I've probably listed to this whole album about 15 times now... actually probably more than that. It is honestly so good. I love every single song off of this EP, it is so raw and emotional and catchy and just fantastic. My favourite song off of TRXYE is definitely Gasoline, it's such an emotionally touching song, and the lyrics are brilliant. If you have not already bought this EP DO IT!! You will love each and every song, I can almost guarantee it.

The video is here for you so you can see how well they did in creating it, but for you to sample what your getting on the EP.
